Letter to Proctor and Gamble

Dear Chairman Jager,

I grew up in Dallas, Texas and many fond memories are associated with driving past the Proctor & Gamble plant there. Several of my friends worked there and there are other pleasant associations as well.

Proctor & Gamble products have been a mainstay in our family all my life and I have always been satisfied with the quality and value they represent.

Today is a sad day for me.

I have just learned that a long time trusted friend has betrayed me, my country, its rule of law and its standard of decency.

How ironic it is that a company which sells cleaning products would choose to cease its sponsorship of a program because it speaks out against filth and moral pollution in America.

Your decision to abandon Dr. Laura, one of the few national voices that confronts the perversion of our national morality head-on, is an abomination to God and an affront to decent citizens.

To make matters worse, you have chosen instead to support programs which propagate indecency and the further erosion of our nation's character.

How sad it is that Proctor & Gamble has "chosen not to be involved with a show that will require time and resources to deal with this kind of controversy...." Since when is standing in the face of oncoming evil not worth the effort?

Today many a talk-show host is beginning to deal with the encroachments of Communism and the compromise of American sovereignty. The radical leftists (today they are called mainstream) are already lambasting and attacking them for their stand for freedom. Will Proctor & Gamble decide it isn't worth the fight to support such programs?

Will Proctor and Gamble sell out to our sworn enemies because supporting those who oppose them hurts the bottom line? If that is the attitude of those who direct Proctor & Gamble, you are not worthy to wear the name American.

One of my friends who worked for Proctor & Gamble, a chemist, was an elder in my church. He was one of my Sunday school teachers and a decent man. He retired years ago, but I know his heart, and if he has heard of your atrocity, he is grieved to know that a company he helped to build would sink to such depths.

I am already boycotting items made in China because of their atrocities, adding Proctor & Gamble Products to the list isn't easy, but you can be sure that until you reverse your decision and take a stand for decency, my family will not spend one penny on your products.

I have a sizeable mailing list and they will all receive this letter. They will be encouraged to join in a boycott of all Proctor & Gamble products. There are lots of other choices on the market and I will be encouraging your competition to begin supporting Dr. Laura immediately.

Additionally, this message will be placed on my website to encourage others to let you know that your actions are not acceptable. E-mails frequently achieve wide distribution. You will notice that the signature line of this one admonishes others to join in this boycott.

My prayer is that there will be a day, very soon, when Proctor & Gamble apologizes for this gross misconduct, reverses its decision and chooses to support righteousness instead of evil.

With deepest regrets,

Jim Wade
